PNGFM Limited was formed in 1994, by a group of Businesspersons from PNG and Fiji. PNGFM is the holding company of two national commercial radio networks; 96FM NAUFM, and 93FM YUMIFM. It also owns Total Event Company, a division specializing in Event Marketing and Management. PNGFM commenced operations in 1994 with the opening of radio station 96FM NAUFM. Thereafter establish its second national radio station 93FM YUMIFM in 1997.

In 1999 Communications Fiji Limited (CFL), a company listed on the Fiji stock exchange, bought out the PNG shareholders and took over the ownership of PNG FM LIMITED.

CFL owns and operates 5 national radio stations in Fiji (FM96, Legend, Viti FM, Navtarang, Sagam). PNGFM employers of over 56 employees of all of PNG nationality with offices in Port Moresby and Lae, and has established itself in the marketplace as the leader in the field of Radio.
